Hemingway knew

One of the folks that we follow at the ACME Writing Twitter page had an interesting quote from Ernest Hemingway.

“There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.”

Today, you could substitute the word “keyboard” for typewriter and you would have an apt description of the novel writer or even the feature writer.  Good writers expend a lot of cognitive energy developing their ideas and transferring them to the physical or digital page.
