Matt Cutts talks Article Directories

Okay, the blog may be getting a little heavy with video content, but some of it makes for good entertainment. In this case, this video is important for the writers who find their way to this blog. For the past five years or so, I have advised businesses who hire cheap, unproven writers to rethink their strategy. Many have been convinced of every SEO “trick” to improve their search listing results and ranking. Many have tried links from poorly written articles submitted to article directories. Google’s algorithm looks for quality content and these spammy, keyword-stuffed “articles” have nothing in common with quality.

Google’s Matt Cutts points this fact out in this video. Nothing like hearing it from the source.
