2016 – the Year of Loss

By mid-year last year, it probably occurred to a lot of baby-boomers that we were losing a number of music greats. People like Glen Frey, David Bowie, Bobby Vee, Goerge Michael, Leon Russell and Prince come to mind. But, the devastation to the legacy of 60s and 70s music is far greater than most realize. During 2016, no fewer than 27 greats from those decades died. The lead singer from Smith, who sang “Baby, it’s You,” Billy Paul, who sang “Me and Mrs. Jones,” Maurice White of Earth, Wind and Fire and so many more who may have flown under the radar. This video lists them in order from the beginning of the year to the end. It also features some of their great hits. It will make every baby boomer sad.
