When Mat Armstrong, of the U.K. was younger, he dropped out of school at the age of 16 and initially made his living as a BMX bike rider at exhibitions and shows. He came from a broken family. Armstrong was able to travel the world as a BMX rider with sponsors, but those sponsorships covered travel expenses and not much more.
Mat picked up some video editing skills and started working at an Indian restaurant every evening and worked on friend’s cars during the day. He then got a job at a car dealer and worked days at the dealer and nights at the restaurant; some very long days.
At 21, he bought his first house and figured out how to do home renovations and rent out the house. He repeated this process while still working two jobs.
Today, Armstrong makes his living as a Youtube content creator, rebuilding very cool cars. That phase of his life started after his girlfriend, Hannah, crashed her Audi. He left the restaurant and has more than 1 million subscribers to his Youtube channel.
Even after the pandemic left him without work, he took his accumulated savings and bought a wrecked Bentley Continental GT. An enormous risk.
Mat’s story is inspirational. It is the story of hard work and taking some risks. It is the story of believing in yourself. You will enjoy it.
