How I Survived the Nova Music Festival Massacre

I have found myself amazed at the strength of some of the people who I have watched interviewed, who survived the horrors of last October 7th, and in some cases, the massacre at the music festival. In this video, a Jewish girl named Natalie, who lives in New York, but often visits Israel, recounts her experience at the festival that day. Her cool demeanor is similar to others, who must have real emotional strength, in order to describe the events of that day, including spending time with people who were later found dead.

These presentations and interviews provide some insights into people’s firsthand experiences in the face of death. This young women is very lucky to be alive, but in the video, she describes the idea of “choiceless choice,” a term coined during the Holocaust. Also, Natalie says as a Jew, she feels safer in Israel, even after her experience, than she does as a Jew in the United States. That is a powerful statement.
