Books in the Works – Status Update

Upcoming books scheduled for release start out with: “Please be Nice to Old People.” This book is very important to me and I would like it published as soon as possible. I wrote much of the book in two hours, reflecting on life experiences and current cultural trends. This is a chapter book targeted at 2-3rd graders.  Illustrations are being worked on presently by illustrator Aleksandra Radic, who illustrated the first Pochi Was Here book. She has some good ideas for the cover and I hope the book is published by the end of September (the date I gave the Library of Congress) or just after. My hope is the book will help kids feel some compassion towards the older generation and realize they have things in common with older people. The book will be released in softcover and should be about 32-pages long.  (UPDATE: Please be Nice to Old People was submitted to the printer and distributor on 10/9/23 and I am awaiting a hard copy of the book to review it. The eproof copy looked good.  Watch for further updates)

The next book on the schedule is “The Terrible Insects,” another chapter book, which is about 3/4 of the way finished. Artwork will also be done by Aleksandra Radic for that book, which will feature some more cartoonish looking bugs. The story will be about a group of very bad insects who get their kicks off of causing trouble for other insect and humans. Unlike Pochi Was Here and Please be Nice to Old People, this book is meant to be funny and includes some disgusting passages that should crack up the average 8-year old. This book will be approximately 75-pages long and will be released in paperback. Hoping for release by the end of October. Both books should also be released as ebooks.

Next in line is my wealth creation and personal finance book: “The Road to Wealth for the Average Person.” This book will cover many, many topics and is targeted at Gen-Z through Millennials with all the information they would need to start creating wealth and aligning their financial situation with their goals for the future.

It will cover everything from the stock market and bonds to the different forms of risk, real estate, tax-favored retirement plans, eliminating debt and how to manage money. I hope this book is picked up by one of the major publishing houses, while the other books will be self-published through SCRIBERIS, LLC and printed by IngramSpark and distributed through Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other booksellers.

The second Pochi Was Here book, with Pochi traveling to Australia has been partly written and will be in the queue for future release. The next two books already have both ISBN and LCCN numbers. They just need illustrating.

Can a working writer also be a book author? We shall see.
