The Beatles – Now and Then

This is an interesting video, and in just the 10 days since it was posted, has garnered more than 28 million views. For those who grew up with the Beatles and those who have been life-long Beatles fans, this incredible piece of technology and video will leave you amazed. The project grew out of a John Lennon demo tape that was recorded in the 70s. The challenge, from the time the remaining Beatles started working on a project around the tape in 1995, was that there was no way with existing technology to separate out John’s voice from his piano playing. George Harrison died in 2001. The effort continued on and found new enthusiasm when a software system, developed by Peter Jackson and his team, was able to segregate out Lennon’s voice.

What you will see in the video are 3D images, maybe holographic or produced by AI, that seem to mingle with real life, modern images of the two remaining Beatles: McCartney and Starr. During the video, there are video images of each of the Beatles at different points in time. The video ends by going back in time to images of each of the Beatles as kids. A must-see video.
