Rioters and Criminals Everywhere; even Scottsdale

While there are many peaceful protesters across the country, there are estimates that 15-20% of every group is made up of criminals who are involved in mass looting, property destruction, assaults on innocent people and other criminal activity.

A good example of this is in Arizona where the primary, legitimate protest is in downtown Phoenix. When I say legitimate, even this has to be qualified, since the criminal element did considerable destruction to private property and many small businesses. Then, on Saturday night, May 30, the rioter segment of the protesters began throwing gas-filled flaming bottles and large fireworks at police; designed to hurt officers.  This is no longer a peaceful protest and the original intent of the protest is lost in the wave of violence, destruction and felonies.

As I said, the primary protest was in Phoenix, but in the upscale city of Scottsdale, bands of criminals came out on Saturday night with the sole purpose of committing mass felonies, destruction of property and vandalism. These thugs also assaulted innocent people on the street. There was not a police officer in sight as the criminal gangs, numbering in the hundreds, descended on upscale stores and stole everything they could carry.

Here is one example of an assault they committed on a member of a local news crew:

Scottsdale has devolved from an upscale city with little crime and a safe environment to what you see here; not much different from L.A.

No sound, but this shows a large group of criminals breaking into an Apple store in Scottsdale on Saturday night, May 30, 2020 and damaging and robbing the store.

It gets worse; the looters and criminals broke into the Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall and went on a free-for-all, stealing everything, breaking into display cabinets and into stores, some of which can be seen in this video, and there was no police response. You can hear the representative from Scottsdale Police explain that they are basically “standing down” and allowing this crime wave, with the excuse that they don’t want their officers hurt for a “property crime.”  The problem is that the majority of these criminals have their faces covered and they will never be arrested. This will then embolden them to commit more crimes.

In this video, you can see the large group of felons goes from one group of stores to others breaking out windows and looting with nothing to impede their crime spree. The news anchor speculates that the Scottsdale police will most likely roll up on the scene soon, unaware that the department has apparently issued a stand down order and the felons will go unpunished to do it again.

None of this has anything to do with a “protest.”  It is disheartening that such a large percentage of young people in America are criminals. The demographics of Scottsdale have changed considerably in recent years with many people from California relocating there. If this had been the normal tourist season, and large numbers of tourists were in Old Town Scottsdale on a Saturday night, there is no telling how many of those people would have been assaulted.

Although this has nothing to do with any protests, it is ironic that George Floyd had worked as a security guard at one time and would have had approved of this at all. This is not the way you honor the memory of a person.

In the articles, Scottsdale police claim that they did not have the resources to deal with all of the criminals. (through a member of city council) and they only made 12 arrests, although there were a couple of hundred participants, as seen from helicopter news coverage.

(and then in Minneapolis)
