New Book Almost Done

Although I have had several social/political books in the works for years, my first children’s book is nearly complete. In the book, the protagonist is a stuffed dog named Pochi. Pochi’s owner drags him along to adventures in cities around the world.

Along the way, Pochi learns about the different cultures, a few words of the native language and relays to the reader what he sees and experiences. Designed for early readers, the books in the Adventures of Pochi series will learn about the world through Pochi’s eyes.

The first volume in the series places Pochi in Osaka, Japan with a side trip to Tokyo. Pochi gets to travel on the bullet train, visit Himeji Castle in Kobe’, the Imperial Palace in Tokyo and see Mt. Fuji. In the second volume, Pochi will travel to Sydney, Australia and learn several phrases and words used by Australians and visit some spectacular sites.

The third volume should have Pochi visiting Moscow, Russia. Pochi may even get to visit the Kremlin. Every volume will need the input of someone familiar with the city. Each new edition of Pochi’s Adventures needs to teach the reader something new, along with some words they can remember from that country’s language.

Just looking for the perfect illustrator right now who can bring Pochi and his friends to life for each book.

Hopefully, Pochi will become a favorite in every grade school and will join some of the popular series of books that stir the imagination of young readers.

UPDATE: The domain name: PochiBooks.com will serve as a promotional and information website for the whole series. This has been purchased and will be developed soon.
